Lucky in Love by Carolyn Brown

Thank you so much for inviting me to Yankee Romance Reviewers Guest Blog today. It’s a pleasure to be here. Love your site that promises dishy guys, sexy scenes, fun themes, bib required, drooling desired.

Let’s talk about Lucky in Love which hit the market a few days ago and see if it meets the requirements for a review on your site!

Dishy Guys? Take a look at the cover. It is not lying! Beau Luckadeau looks exactly like that. He’s a tall, blond haired hunky cowboy who is lucky in everything but love. (Excerpt) The heavens had opened up and dropped him down in her sight again for the second time in one day. Heavens, nothing. If anything had dropped him, it would be the pure old devil himself. Maybe he was the devil reincarnated. With clear blue eyes and tight fitting jeans that made her blush when her eyes went from his sexy mouth, down his hard chest rippling with muscles beneath a skin tight tee shirt to his belt buckle and below…

Sexy scenes? All sexy scenes do not involve satin sheets, rose petals and chilling champagne in a crystal ice bucket. How about this excerpt? She’d envisioned several scenarios for that moment. A motel room with satin sheets and candles. A cabin on the banks of a river. Certainly not in a hay barn with a raging storm outside. But what better place for two ranchers? The smell of fresh cut hay and a raging thunderstorm only heightened desire as she buried her face in the soft hair on his chest.

Fun themes? Well, there is the fact that Milli and Beau knew each other for one night a couple of years before even if Beau thinks it was a figment of a drunken dream. And there’s the old girlfriend who Milli does get to hit for calling her a bitch. Excerpt not included because it might spoil the twists and turns getting Milli from wanting to kill Beau with a bullet to wanting to do something far more fun to that sexy body.

Bib required? Are we talking about a real bib that prevents barbecue sauce from dripping onto a pretty white shirt? There’s some almighty good cooking going on in Lucky in Love. Barbecues, plain old dinner and supper served up in the ranch house, Sunday picnics and real breakfasts complete with pancakes, biscuits and gravy and the whole nine yards. Or are we talking about passion dripping from the reader and onto an imaginary bib? In which case, hopefully you will cut a hole in one of those big old black garbage bags and slip it over your head before you begin to read.

Drooling desired? Some of my friends and relatives have expressed a desire to sleep with the books under their pillows. I’m sending them each a stain stick for the morning afterwards so they can treat their pillow cases before tossing them into the washing machine. If they still have shiny chins when they get to work please drop me an email and I’ll replenish your tissue supply!

And remember there are two more books in the series on the way. One Lucky Cowboy in November and Getting Lucky, Jan. 1, 2010. Don’t throw away the bib just yet.

How about you? Can you remember a particular book that met all of the above requirements? Would you read it again?

Lucky in Love—in stores September!

When hunky rancher "Lucky Beau" Luckadeau accuses spitfire Milli Torres of stealing his prize bull, she promptly shoots at him, triggering a feud that only gets resolved when they discover they share a steamy hot memory from a night long ago...

It was a night of passion that has always haunted Lucky. The mysterious beauty he seduced at a cousin's wedding disappeared. He's always been lucky at cards, lucky
with cattle, and lucky with land, but he's never been lucky in love.

Now Milli Torres has come to southern Oklahoma to help out on her grandfather's ranch. A cut fence and a big, mean Angus bull in the pasture are bad enough, but then she looks up and sees Beau Luckadeau. Great God Almighty, how did he get from Louisiana to Ardmore, Oklahoma, and what in the hell is she going to do if he recognizes her?

The last book I read that fits the bill was "The Legacy" by TJ Bennett. I usually don't re-read books because there are so many more great ones out there to be read.

Would love a chance to read this one Carolyn :)

I'd have to say a book that fulfilled all of my requirements is the Susan Elizabeth Phillips book "Nobody's baby but mine" I re-read it about every 2-3 months. Always enjoy it.

The summary for this book makes me smile. I can just picture the characters! Congrats on your success, it looks delightful!

I loved Elizabeth Lowell's historical westerns and I wish she would go back to writing them...her recent books are fun but the westerns were my faves.

I have read and would and will reread it. And I'm not just sayin' that cuz my Mama wrote it! :0)

Milli is full of enough sass and temper to keep Beau wondering for a month of Sundays!

And the cover of this book ... why it's sinfully divine! Can I use those two words together and if I do should I watch for lightning bolts? LOL When I get that second and third book someone better pray for my soul ~ no tellin' what thoughts will go through my mind when I've got all 3 of those books to stare at! :0)

GOOD BOOK MAMA!!!! I'd love to win a copy so I don't have to loan out mine.
