Sunday's Honey

Today's Sunday's Honey is Liam Neeson. Yumm.......oh if I had one wish in the world I would love to see what's under his kilt. *grin*

I really don't understand the men of today. Suits, ties, long sleeve collar choking shirts just aren't my idea of a sexy man's attire. Whatever happened to the good old days of showing us a bit of leg while draped in colors of one's heritage? Don't men realize that we women really do like a man in a kilt for numerous reasons. Do we really need to slap our men up the back of the head just to make them understand that this is sooooo sexy?

Not only do I find the bit of muscled leg sexy but putting the imagination to work with the layers of rough wool fabric and what it would do to my skin while I'm unwrapping such a hunk of maleness. Hmmm.........I'm drooling. Also with a rough cotton weave shirt showing biceps to die for, a sprinkling of hair at the top of the chest peeking out and sucking your attention to what other delicacies might be awaiting down yonder covering. Ahaaaaaaa........! I think we women should have the right to cast a vote to more eye snatching attire for our Honey.

So my question for this week is, what type of clothing would you find most sexy on your man? Do you think we women should have a say in what our men wear? I would love to see what you all have to say.

Sea Witch by Virginia Kantra

Sea Witch by Virginia Kantra is absolutely delicious. A magical mystical romance with a paranormal element that I haven't read before. Caught in the novel's web from page one I just could not put this book down. Oh my, oh my so yummy!

Margred is breathtakingly beautiful with long dark hair, ivory skin and large brown bottomless eyes that drink in every little thing. She is a selkie! Human on land, seal by sea. Mortal on land, Immortal by sea. A creature of the earth with water as her element.

Caleb Hunter is a tall handsome man with sea green eyes that could trap your soul. He had a difficult childhood with the loss of his mother and older brother which lead him on a journey to Iraq and the war we all hate. Having been wounded in battle he returns to Maine and his boyhood home to become Chief of Police.

The story starts out with our Chief doing what he is best at, his job. While finishing up he comes upon Margred in her human form and sexual sparks start to fly right away. Margred agrees to meet Caleb for a date and the sparks turn into fiery passion.

Weeks go by with Caleb waiting and checking for Margred. He comes across her one night as she is being brutally attacked and literary saves her by the skin of her teeth. She is checked by a physician and latter questioned by Caleb but with no satisfaction on his part. Even though Caleb doesn't know quite what to think of Margred he doesn't let that stop the lust and passion that they both share and crave.

Being on a small island off the Maine coast where summer brings hoards of tourists, the news of an attack on a woman spreads like wildfire. Being that as it may, Caleb gets things under control very quickly to the island year round residents utter relief. Unfortunately, the quiet of this small community doesn't last for long.

Our author has given us a wonderful storyline that is written so smoothly that time just seems to disappear before we even realize the book is at it's end. Action packed, undeniable irresistible passion, sexually delightful, brutal, nerve wracking, sit on the edge of your seat enticing, you won't go wrong with this fantastic tale. This writer knows her stuff and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

What to Do with Antonio?

I don't know how many of you out there find Antonio Banderas delicious eye candy but I sure do. What I'm trying to decide is if I would like him in a historical romance, *yawn* maybe, as a deliciously decadent vampire, hmm...possibilities or as a were whatever.

It really is hard because I can see this yummy male specimen as a vampire not only because of his looks but that voice of his with that wonderful accent. It also is something I do think he would enjoy playing in a romantic setting. Well at least I would enjoy it.

As a were I would probably have to put him as a black panther. Sleek, dark, mysterious, mesmerizing and just plan lethal. Heck I would give my life for one night with him.

As a historical romance character I'm totally just not sure. I think he's too sultry for this type of roll unless we are talking about him as a sultan with a harem. Don't think I would like that either as I wouldn't want to share. Yes I know I'm stingy.

Oh I just thought of one more. Can you see him as a Pagan God. Total YUMM! Zeus watch out cause here comes Antonio.

So my question here is, what type of character would you prefer him as if you had one night to spend alone with him?

Gotta Love Secondary Characters -- Or Is That Creatures?

I’ve always loved seeing the secondary characters in books and movies. The cranky grandmother or grandfather. The quirky best friend. Even a scene-stealing dog or cat.

But in paranormal, you can go a bit further. And I did.

A ghost who’s dressed in her funeral garb – a 1950s dress that she hates her husband for choosing.

An olive-green creature that’s as avaricious as Scrooge or Star Trek’s Ferengi and loves to collect vintage erotica and sex toys.

An elf that looks more like Barbie.

A creature that looks a lot like Jabba the Hutt but a lot more disgusting and oozing.

Bunny slippers with razor-sharp teeth that may be mischievous but make a nice set of footwear.

Add to that a dog that floats and disappears when he gets nervous and a gargoyle that tends to hang out in dressing rooms when they’re occupied.

Adding secondary characters can add so much to a story, fill the holes, so to speak. And they can also make great villains.

Or in the case of Fluff and Puff, comic relief.

And I’m finding out with each book there’s more secondary characters that’s making me laugh and hoping my readers will laugh too.

"Book of Days" by Sara Reinke to be produced as audio book

I'm excited to announce that Book of Days, the first in my epic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Tiralainn, and a past Dream Realm Awards finalist, has been selected to be one of the launch titles in a new audio book line coming soon from Double Dragon Publishing (DDP). The official word from Deron Douglas, the publisher: "DDP has reached a tentative agreementwith a UK Sound Studio to produce our top selling titles as fullproduction, dramatized audio titles for distribution with Audible, iTunes and eventually Amazon.com."

In Book of Days, the ordinary and seemingly unrelated lives of Trejaeran Muirel and Qynh Reoder are forever and irrevocably changed when they learn they are brother and sister, twin heirs to the throne of Tiralainn, and the children of a murdered King of Men and Queen of the Elves. By Elfin prophecy, one of them will one day defeat Ciardha, the evil and immortal Queen who now reigns over the realm, and restore the alliance of men and Elves.

And, as I mention on my website:

The Chronicles of Tiralainn are my first published books, my re-introduction to the world of writing novel-length fiction after a nearly 10 year hiatus. "Book of Days," the first in the series, was written in 2002 after the death of my uncle Pete, in whose memory the book is dedicated. He loved epic sword-and-sorcery fantasy tales, and I wrote "Book of Days" because I hope he would have enjoyed it.

"Book of Days" went on to be one of the launch titles for DDP's Dragon Tooth Fantasy imprint, was named one of the Top Ten Science-Fiction Fantasy Novels of 2005 in the annual Preditors & Editors online readers poll and was a Finalist in the 2005 Dream Realm Awards for excellence in electronically published speculative fiction.

The series will always be near and dear to my heart, not only because I wrote it for Pete, but because it chronicles my maturation as a writer over these past years. I've written my entire life, ever since childhood, but it wasn't until I started work on "Book of Days" that I seriously devoted myself to improving my craft, honing my skills and building a career for myself as a fiction author. I think you can see that evidenced in the evolution of the characters and storylines of the Tiralainn books. Practice makes perfect, or so they say, and Tiralainn was a great world on which to cut my writing teeth.

Thus, as you can imagine, I am delighted and touched that Book of Days will be produced in audio format. I'll keep you posted on release dates and additional information.

Today's Dishy Guy is Sizzling

Okay I borrowed this picture from Katie MacAlister. Sorry Katie but he's just to delicious not to share. He has got to be the perfect male specimen for any Romance Lovers fantasy. The tat's and position only lend to the whole frame of mind that make this picture reach out and snag you before you can say, "Oh".

Now if I were a betting girl I would have to bet that he could make you quiver like a bowl of jello and drool like a teething infant within seconds. Any thoughts you may have been thinking just seep out your ears on the flow of mush that used to be your brains.

Now for my question for all of you. Looking at this picture what is the first dessert he makes you think of? Hmm........my answer.......Hot Fudge Sundae with a Cherry on top!

Dark Highland Fire by Kendra Leigh Castle

Dark Highland Fire by Kendra Leigh Castle is a romantic paranormal fantasy that draws you so deep within the soul of the story that all reality around you is completely shut out. Intensely romantic, sexual, breathtaking and crawl under your skin, mouth watering don't put it down, this novel should be on the New York Times Bestsellers list without a doubt. If you miss this novel and it's previous installment you are missing the most delicious books of the Century.

Rowan an Morgaine is a Goddess to be by birth and in her own right. A feminine warrior of sharp wit and equally sharp tongue, beauty befitting her station and that of her people, fearless of death, she is a woman to be reckoned with. Tall, long legs, flowing red hair that radiates fire and emerald green eyes that seer you to your soul, Rowan is so much more than delectably exquisite.

Gabriel MacInnes is second son of the pack of Werewolves designated to protect an ancient artifact that is the bridge to their ancient homeland in another world. Breathtaking is the understatement for this man. Tall, bronzed, long dark hair and eyes to melt your soul should the right women capture him. Most certainly a ladies man to the max. Though his station is second son it doesn't diminish the fact that Gods have a very special task made just for him. Will he be able to survive it is the question.

Rowan and her brother Bastien escape by the skin of their teeth from the slaughter that is befalling their people by the Andrakkar, the Dark Dragons. Their escape is short lived however once Lucien Andrakkar enlists the help of the daemon, creatures even more vile than the dragons themselves.

Again Rowan is found and is saved at the last moment by her brother only to be dropped into the hands of Gabriel MacInnes. Bastien makes Gabriel promise to protect his sister and feed her starving form. Gabriel cringes at the thought of having to protect a blood sucker as vampires and werewolves are mortal enemies, but he swears to do so anyway.

So the war is to begin between two worlds and creatures so vile just to think of them will make you cringe and want to hide beneath the covers. All this over the love of a stubborn pig headed woman that has crawled into the blood of two very dangerous adversaries. A war that is needed to right the wrongs of a species so noble and to unite two races unknown to each other for over a thousand years. Good vs. Evil, right vs. wrong, light vs. dark, but who will be the victor?

A love so pure that Rowan and Gabriel will be stunned that the Gods have chosen to throw the two of them together. Two people, one Werewolf, one Vampire that are so alike you wonder how this could possibly work.

"And are you always such a charming conversationalist, or is it just me?" he shot back, keeping his voice deliberately even. He didn't think it wise, when he knew so little of her, to let Rowan know he felt like throttling her every time she opened her mouth.

"It's you," she replied, not quite suppressing what appeared to be an amused quirk of her lips. "I know when I'm being a bitch."

This budding author is astounding to say the least. She has given us a paranormal romance intertwined with the realm of fantasy and a style of writing so smooth it's like the silky froth on the top of your favorite cappuccino. My heart longs for more of this families saga, my throat is desert parched with the ending of this installment, my need for more of this writer's decadence is critical. This series will forever be included into my permanent collection so that when my longing is too great, I can pull this novel up and quench my thirst once again.

What Appeals to Me About Jazz

What appealed to me about writing about witchy Jazz in 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover

And why wouldn’t I when we’re so much alike.

Jazz is snarky. I’m snarky. She’s Irish. I’m Irish. She has red hair. I have red hair. She’s tall. I’m short. She’s gorgeous. I’m short. She can kick magickal ass. I’m short. She loves all the scented body wash and body creams. So do I. She shares her tub with rubber duckys who are more than they appear. I collect rubber duckys who so far are what they appear. She has bunny slippers that can eat pretty much anything, although the charge they ate that squirrel up at Moonstone Lake is unfounded. My bunny slippers just look cute and so far stay out of the cookie jar.

What I love about this book is that Jazz is someone I’d enjoy hanging out with. She may have magick in her blood but she’s still female enough to love shopping and her lattes. And who wouldn’t love having a BFF who could wiggle her fingers to make pushy people disappear, well, maybe just go away. She drives a snazzy classic T-Bird convertible with an irascible ghost in the passenger seat. She loves cotton candy, funnel cake, and roller coasters.

And did I mention she also has a super hot sexy vampire in her life? Oh yeah, Nick Gregory, a vampire PI who used to work with vamp law enforcement. And right now, he wants her to help him take down a serial killer of vampires. And if their plan doesn’t work out, they’d be dust. Literally. Okay, I’m a good friend, but I’m not sure I’d be willing to help her storm a big bad creature’s mansion to take him down. But I’d sure be out there on the road cheering her on.

Irma’s been in Jazz’s T-Bird since 1956 and not too happy about it, but she can’t seem to leave the car either.

Fluff and Puff, the bunny slippers, believe the house Jazz shares with web designer Krebs is their playground.

Dweezil, Jazz’s creature of a boss at All Creatures Car Service is…well, let’s just say you have to read him to believe him.

Nick, see above.

And Jazz is in a cauldron all her own. She is so much I’m not and that’s probably a good thing. She can get herself out of trouble using magick. I’m not that skilled.

So how about you? Would you want a snarky witch for a BFF? I’m sure the sexy vampire would be a given. And how about bunny slippers that would make sure chocolate in your house never lasted more than a few seconds?

What would you want? Other than barring the slippers from your house, that is.

The Countdown Begins

I realized this past week that Hex Appeal will be out in four months. Seems like quite a time, doesn’t it? But that comes down to about 16 weeks, 123 days. Wow!

When I finished 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover I had planned on moving on to one of the other witches. Except Jazz let me know I wasn’t finished with her yet. That there was more to say. And who am I to argue with a 700+-year-old witch?

So I took the story forward a few months and more problems popped up for her. You’d think after all her years in the mortal realm she’d know better, wouldn’t you? But Jazz being Jazz, it just doesn’t work that way.

So now Jazz has nightmares. Nick’s sleep isn’t all that pleasant either. Irma’s making new demands just because she wants to. And Fluff and Puff? Well, they’re accused of the unthinkable. There Wereweasel that operates the Ferris wheel is missing and one of the bunny slippers coughed up one of his shirt buttons. They’re in magick bunny slipper jail and if they’re found guilty of this heinous crime, they’ll be no more. And Dweezil’s business is in trouble and he’s demanding Jazz’s help.

One witch can only do so much!

But we are talking Jazz and she’s determined to make all things right.

So armed with a pair of crocodile stilettos named Croc and Delilah and her dramatic flair for magick, Jazz is determined to save her beloved bunny slippers, help Nick with his business, make some compromises with Irma and along the way acquire a designer wardrobe.

As I said, one witch can only do so much.

Hex Appeal, releasing November 2008

I’ll in the author spotlight all day at Bitten By Books on Monday, July 7. I hope you’ll stop by!

Can Brandon protect the woman he loves from his enemies and his own dark thirst?

In Dark Prince by Eve Silver, along the barren, rocky coast of Pentreath in Cornwall, a woman's battered body washes ashore, and the whispers begin: Nowhere is safe. For evil has come to Pentreath...and to the uneasy shadows of Trevisham House... Fate has brought Jane Heatherington to work at Trevisham House. She knows what they say about the estate's brooding new master, Aidan Warrick: a man of mystery, a pirate, a smuggler, and worse. He may look like a fallen angel, but everything about him suggests he is in league with the devil himself...and Jane has seen nothing to suggest otherwise... Cut off from family and friends, Jane's only companion is a man she dare not trust, who disappears into the night, whose secrets are many, and who looks at her with a hunger she both fears and desires. In Divinity in Chains by Danielle Devon, Aramon’s blood runs hot for the ravishingly beautiful Eliyn, the mysterious young woman who seemed to appear like magic out of the woods, lost and alone. But as Garde Lumia of the kingdom of Kinra, he is bound by duty to his country and the divine family he has sworn to protect. Aramon must marry according to his high station, the laws of the kingdom have no care for the desires of his heart. Eliyn lost the only family she has ever known to the barbaric Viscans, and is grateful to the royal family for taking in. She knows Aramon would willingly defy his king to bond with her if she would only say the word, but she is mindful of her low-born status. All she can ever have of him are nights of forbidden passion. Then a dark ship appears on the horizon, a ship bearing Araqael, the Night Lord cast from the heavens by the goddess herself. The centerpiece of his plot for revenge is his intended bride—Eliyn. The world would be hers to command if only she would take her place at his side. She must choose between the demon who could offer her everything and the man who could offer her nothing but his heart. But Divinity has other plans…
